What is Semaglutide and how does it work for weight loss?

Semaglutide is a medication used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It is also an FDA approved medication for weight loss by injection. It belongs to a class of drugs called GLP-1 receptor agonists, which work by stimulating the release of insulin and reducing the amount of glucose produced by the liver. Semaglutide is given by injection and can help lower blood sugar levels, and promote weight loss. Semaglutide is a non-stimulant appetite suppressant that acts like a hunger-regulating hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1).

It makes you feel full longer by delaying stomach/gastric emptying after eating a smaller amount of food. This medication can help you loose 1-2 lbs. per week when combined with life style changes including exercise and a healthy diet.

Exercise and diet are important components when used in conjunction with Semaglutide.
